  Well... safe perl is part of perl, not minivend, and is there for security
sake. I hate it myself but you can get around it with the perl tag I sent you.

substitute print with $var .= and you are ready to run. The reason returns
are used is because your perl goes through all this extra stuff, and it 
would be too much bloat and trouble to redirect stdout. As if there isn't
enough bloat when you get right into it. Must make some sacrifices for
everything new you use. But hey to each there own. 

Still, more people listen to constructive criticism than blazing attacks.
And once you get people to listen they might actually act.
