You might want to use DBDoctor which lets you modify ascii databases;
There are others but I have found this one to be user friendly and easy
to setup. You will have to change the code to search for tab delimited
instead of Pipes but it is easy just use a text editor and replace  the
tab \t .
it is only in a few places. It works fine for me.
