order page trouble

Setting up a new version of my site.
All is well and beautiful until an order is placed.
I get a 500 page and this is in the error.log
Bad counter magic in /opt/usr/vids/vidstore/etc/order.number at
/opt/usr/vend/mvend/lib/Vend/Order.pm line 833
Everything else is fine.
