PROBLEM SOLVED!
I'm not sure why it works: but I went back and set the server name to
www.mysite.com:8080
in the makecat script and everything works fine. That is the server port
asigned to apache-ssl in my system.
Well on to data bases!
Thanks for all the help, at least I learned a bunch of things to help me
with other installations.
