mkdir /qualitycounts: No such file or directory at makecat line 1232

I'm new.  I installed minivend 3.12 via telnet on the Unix server that I
just moved my web site to.  I did the ./configure.  I went through the
makecat "simple" and everything seemed to go well.  Then I did another
makecat "qualitycounts".  After the final input, I keep getting the
following:  mkdir /qualitycounts: No such file or directory at makecat line
1232

I restarted the minivend server but it is still not generating anything in
the catalog directory.  Any suggestions?
