Hello list,

Thanks for the many replies.  Perl IS crashing.  I am also getting
signal 11s when I try to compile things.  I evidently have a corrupt
installation of Linux.  I have core files all over the hard drive. :(

I have replaced gcc (all the parts) perl and the libs... to no avail.

Next I am gonna back up my carts and start from scratch.

I have never seen this sort of thing before.  I am not sure what could
have caused it.  My development machine is a RH7 and runs IC and MV
smooth as silk.  It was even set up from the same CDs.
