I decided to try HtDig after having a good experience on another
system. It has relevance matching, which seems more useful than
what Glimpse offers.

That has yet to be determined, but it will probably be supported in
one way, shape, or form. Vend::Glimpse may not have full relational
capability like the others will, but it is really needed for very large
text databases.

Ideally I would get rid of the glimpse and agrep binaries and just use
its indices....but that is probably too big a job for me. Spelling error
tolerance doesn't seem to be too wanted a feature, and I don't want to
get into the fuzzy matching routines.

The biggest problem with Glimpse from MiniVend 4's standpoint is the
need to know field names up front. The new search engine doesn't need
to know until it accesses the file, and there is no way to get that
from Glimpse. Also, it will be hard to marry the new SQL query engine
to it. It will probably best be done by specifying the use of a certain
database's field positions via mv_field_names.
