Re: Redhat 6.0 E-Commerce Edition
This is due to the vlink or tlink program's failure to communicate with the minivend
server.
Checkpoints:
1) make sure that minivend is started (ps ax |grep minivend)
2) make sure that the vlink program belongs to the minivend user and setuid to the user
my 'ls -l' listing shows this:
-rwsrwxr-x 1 minivend minivend 8564 Aug 27 16:08 mycat.cgi
the 's' bit in the "user" category must be set and the cgi program must belong to the
minivend user.
3) make sure that the vlink program can access the socket file (if you're using the UNIX
domain sockets). The socket file is <your_minivend_installation_dir>/etc/socket
make sure this too, belongs to the minivend user, and has permission like
srw------- 1 minivend minivend ......
4) try telnetting to your server's ip address, port num: 7786. If you can connect, it
also shows that connection is not a problem.
give as much diagnostics as possible.

william.
