If you install the Flypage demo, it contains an example of adding an item
to the products database on the fly.  In the demo, the user keys the item
info into a form and then clicks a submit button, but you no doubt could do
it automatically with hidden fields and minivend tags.  Also, the docs have
a section on putting multiple items in a cart simultaneously, in the same
manner.  Since you already have the code or scripts or whatever to generate
the part specs, getting it into the cart should be fairly straightforward.
