Error 111 on RedHat 6.0 and SuSE 6.1

Hi, all

I have tried to install MiniVend 3.14 on an i586 PC running RedHat 6.0.
When I ran ./configure I saw things working but after a few seconds I
got error 111 and the configuration program stopped.
Here are the last ten lines I saw on screen:

Anyone has any advise?

PS. I tried the same process under the same PC with SuSE 6.1, the error
I got was quite the same. (Perl in RedHat 6.0 is 5.00503, Perl in SuSE
6.1 is 5.00502).
