Discount given based on text string...

Dear and Helpful List:

I would like to setup a discount based on the value selected by the customer in
a select field.  I'm setting a variable called "site_name" to a string.  I need
to use the string because the system we use to do inventory and all the other
order stuff need to know the location of the student.  

An example of what the students would be selecting from the <select> tag is :

AEF/  American Electric Power - Ft. Wayne
BTS/ Breed Tech - Sterling Hghts, MI
GMH/ GM - Auburn Hills, MI

I'd like to give all customers a 5% discount and any from a GM site a 10%
discount.  Is the best way to do this a LONG (their are about 80 different
sites) if-elsif-elsif... statement, or is their another way.
