mv3.10: Static Build Error record_exists

Upon attempting to build a catalog with ./bin/minivend -build order2 I get
the following error:
Checking part number 234....................................
Can't call method "record_exists" without a package or object reference at
/var/
lib/httpd/mvend/lib/Vend/Data.pm line 110.
order2: error building pages. Skipping.
order2: Page build error. Skipping.
The error.log for minivend and the catalog echo the same result.
The static directory is empty. Item 234 looks like this:
234 Purple Pearl w/ small blue flake color
I saw that Russ had the exact same problem in the mailing list, but no
follow-ups.
Am I missing a package? Do I need to go visit CPAN? ;-)
