MV3.12: Do I NEED MySQL?

THANK YOU! I was already putting on the climbing boots for what I
consider to be a VERY steep learning curve. The leap into minivend is
taxing my time limits now. Trying to master SQL at the same time is
probably nuts. I will work on using the standard DB format as I intended
from the outset and try to learn how to speed up the process.
