The [sort] tag only seems to work on the list on the page. To sort
everything returned by a search add a "tf=myfieldtosortby" in searh
parameters (that's mv_sort_field for forms). I wasted many days figuring
this out.

You can get rid of the [sort] tags as well. I don't know why you'd ever
want to use the [sort] tag. Maybe it's faster, so it you know that the
results of your search will fit on one page. I don't think I ever use it
though. Perhaps someone else can shed some light on this.
