RE: Still Lost on mv_admin
****** message to minivend-users from joe@cyberdyne.net (Joe Arcuri) ******
Looks like you need to install URI::URL huh... pretty obvious.. but how is
not always that obvious, I personally like to use the perl CPAN shell.. you
invoke this by typing "perl -MCPAN -e shell" if it's your first time you'll
have to config it. Once config'd you can at the cpan prompt "cpan>" make
sure all the shit's up to date.. type "r" and you'll get a list of modules
that should be updated.. I strongly suggest you first do a "cpan> install
Bundle::libnet" followed by "cpan> install MD5" and then "cpan> install
Bundle::CPAN" followed by "cpan> reload cpan" and followed by "cpan> install
Bundle::LWP" and finally "cpan> install URI::URL" once you've done all
this.....
make sure that the minivend.cfg file contains these statements:
Variable MV_NO_CRYPT 0
AdminUser user:"password" <-- the password section should be encrypted .. I
just copied the password from my passwd.httpd file for the user I wanted to
admin the MiniVend, and then modified the $MVEND-HOME/admin/catalog.cfg file
to reflect the same user and password from the minivend.cfg file.. tada!
Goto http://www.yoursite.com:7786 and login
Hope that's that.. :)

Perhaps it is a bug in the minivend configure script? now that I have
went to the CPAN archives and downloaded URI-1.00 and MIME-Base64-2.10
/mv_admin is working great (well, I at least get the prompt for username
and password)...
so where do I set these? I know it was mentioned earlier, but I can't
seem to find that post.
Thanks,
Greg
