I think it is great that there are so many people who like to do
something for the manual...

What I suggest for the user manual should be a step-by-step building of
the simple-demo.
This is how I managed to get my first local shop running ;)
- everything that is needed for MV-installation
- "minimum" catalog.cfg - no frames, etc. makes it hard to see whats
important
- products.asc - what it should contain, how to build.
- first page: browse (BTW: it was great to see the first MV-generated
page ;)
- basketpage
- checkout-pages...
- searching for categorys (results-page)
- then things like shipping, tax, internationalization, etc. should be
added one after another

PS: Mike, you should get one hand enchained on your back - so we are
able to get the manual done before you add more features :)
