Rob,

	I'm happily following a similar route as cfm, using a second method to
access the same database as Minivend. In my case, I'm using Perl and DBI
to access a Postgres database, which builds search result pages about 5
times faster than analagous Minivend operations, from my own tests. I'm
still able to pass around Minivend's session ID in my perl script, so my
own pages work as if they are within a minivend store, giving me full
access to Minivend's capabilities when I want them.
