I'm receiving the following error sporadically when I run 4.9 CVS in RPC
mode (on a near-stock 4.9 foundation catalog):
"Died in server spawn: connect failed -- unknown error. Driver 'mysql'
installed?" (which causes a 500 error for the user)
Obviously, the mysql driver is installed, it's the "unknown error" part
that worries me. Perhaps the DBI->install_driver() is having some kind of
trouble when in RPC mode? It is easily reproducible when running 2 or more
concurrent requests. MaxServers 0 doesn't seem to make a difference in
this case.
For the time being, I'll just run in HIGH mode, but I hope that reporting
it will help someone else (or help get it resolved). As part of debugging,
I built 5.8.0 with default options, and carefully installed DBD::mysql; but
neither attempt helped.
* Environment:
Linux 2.4.7-10enterprise #1 SMP Thu Sep 6 16:48:20 EDT 2001 i686 unknown
(Dual celeron 1.0 ghz, 512 mb ram)
Perl 5.6.1 & 5.8.0 both exhibit the same problem.
