Ed thanks for all of your help here, but I'm still confused and getting 
nowhere.
we have our own colocated server that we have total access to (so far as 
I know)
Its running WHM 5.3.0 Cpanel 5.3.0-R56 RedHat 7.3, we totally control 
the server,
 as I understand it. We can set up new hosting accounts etc. I've tried 
the SSH in CPanel, tried Putty to
telnet in, but am unable to even find where the devil I would even use 
the command line that you gave me.
to import the key. any suggestions on  software for windows that I 
should use?
