The best way to handle the core file is to simply delete it. The
perl.core file is a dump of the perl memory stack after perl encounters
certain types of fatal errors. This file is generated to provide experts
a way to determine exactly how the program died. Doing a post mortem on
a core file is a relatively arcane art and it probably isn't worth your
time to learn it.
However, you should take note of when the core file is generated because
it does indicate that perl is dying when certain conditions are met.
