Hi out there,
I have installed MiniVend 3-14 on a Cobalt RAQ2 64 Megs Ram with perl
5.004_04 built for mips-linux.
The MiniVend server works fine, but I have a problem getting the catalogs
to connect to MV. First is the Scenario, and then the Question..
SCENARIO
After installing the simple demo, I try http://mydomain.com/simple.cgi
After a while I get the "Server Unavailable" page. Next I CHMOD 666
etc/socket and try simple.cgi again. It works, but I get the "Under
Construction" page (i.e. special/missing ).
At this point the minivend error logs say:
213.36.53.55 - - [09/November/1999:15:37:00 +0000] -
/simple.cgi/index/simple.cgi/index Undefined catalog: /simple.cgi/index
Looks like it is doubling up the url
I had a similar problem which was due to not being clear about the
distinction between urls and file paths and relative urls. Check how you
have specified directories and urls in catalog.cgf and minivend.cfg files.
Restart minivend to reconfigure your catalog.
Cheers
Michael
If I try any of the other links from special/missing, e.g. browse1, I get a
500 error.
MV Logs say:
213.36.53.124 - - [09/November/1999:15:53:41 +0000] -
/simple.cgi/browse1/simple.cgi/browse1 Undefined catalog:
/simple.cgi/browse1
Server logs say:
[Tue Nov 9 15:36:59 1999] [warn] [client 213.36.53.55] handler
"cgi-wrapper" not found for: /home/sites/home/web/simple.cgi
[Tue Nov 9 15:37:00 1999] [error] [client 213.36.53.55] Premature end of
script headers: /usr/cgiwrap/cgiwrap
QUESTION
Apart from "what the hell am I doing wrong," can anyone tell me..
Will getting rid of CGIWRAP when using MV on a RAQ2 fix the problem?
Any helpful comments greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Tom..
