Re: [mv] AuthorizeNet, RedHat E Commerce Server, and Minivend

I run the Red Hat E Commerce Server v3.0 also. OpenSSL and mod_SSL are
included in the
package. What Red Hat hat did by providing the E Commerce Server, was a
way to avoid
patent infringement on RSA. Their BSafe product is merged into both SSL
modules.

If you install the source rpm for the webserver, you will be presented
with about a
dozen patches that they used to adjust the installation directory, name,
etc. The
patches for the two SSL modules will install the RSA BSafe source code
in the appropriate
Apache source directory.

There are also files missing from the perl distribution on the
distribution disk. You'll
need to get them elsewhere. I installed mod_perl v1.21 with the Red Hat
mod_perl patch after
modifying it to reflect the file name version changes. I compiled it
the apxs option and
its been running for about 60 days without any problems.

I have not however tried to update to newer versions of the SSL
modules. The modifications
made by Red Hat to the source code for use with BSafe are significant.
I have spoken to a
number of people in the Red Hat development group and have been told
that they are aware
of the problem and intend to fix it.

Hope this helps,

Jack Lauman
