Re: Fw: [mv] Problem report, error 404, no access to catalog
Hello Joachim,
no, I'm sorry, but that isn't the problem too. I think you misunderstood.
I have a local (at home) Developmentsystem running with NT4-Server, IIS and
Perl 5005. On this system the minivend-installation works quite well since
the beginning, without any changing after the automatic installation. On
this System I've got my first quite positive experience with minivend. I
changed the demo-catalog to my needs and wanted to publish it on the web.
Then the trouble began.
I had to install minivend at my ISP's server at first. The ISP-server is a
UNIX-Server with a RedHat system. See my Problem-report from 28. September,
12:38. I've installed minivend and got some errors in the error.log. Calling
the demo-catalog I got error 404 (file not found) within the browser. I
found a mistake in the CGIURL. After correction there were no more errors in
the error.log. The reconfiguration of the catalog was successfull. - But the
error 404 in browser was still alive and I still got no access to the
catalog.
I reinstalled many times with different configuration. I used UNIX-mode,
INET-mode, changed simple executable to simple.cgi, checked the
permission-settings, read the whole documentation, searched the whole
minivend-user-archive. Whatever I changed I got error 404 in the browser and
no access to the catalog.
I'm not very familiar with UNIX. I can use it via telnet, start programs,
look to the file-system, set permissions of my files, fetch
configuration-files to my local system via FTP, change them and bring it
back to the server, but I'm not able to administer deeply. At last I have no
permissions to that on my ISP's Server.
May be it is not a great change to me, but I'm strong going foreward to
become crazy. Is there anyone who can stop
that????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
??
