thanks for your answers, but they couldn't help me jet.

Ed, in my cgi-bin directory I use .cgi .pl and files without extension as
executables. They all will be executed. That's not the problem. I see that
the simple executable will also be executed correctly. Because the
reconfiguration of the catalog runs successfull with the message

Reconfig of simple successful, build=.

and I've read in the docs that during the reconfiguration-process the simple
executable will be executed.

I tried that with the permission of the /cgi-bin/simple set to 755 or 777 -
no other effect.

Joachim, I tried also to change the simple-program to simple.cgi and the
CGIURL to /cgi-bin/simple.cgi. It also did'nt solve my problem. After that
the reconfiguration failed. When I changed back the reconfiguration was
successfull again.

On my local NT4-Development-System minivend-3.14-3 works also quite well
without changing anything after automatic installation. The installation
named the executable to simple.exe by itself. I liked it very much and
changed the demo-application right quickly to my needs to publish it on my
ISP's server. The whole problems began with installing minivend on this
server.

I'm still really confused because there's no error but the 404 (File not
found). It seems like the simple executable has no access to the
catalog-files outsides my html-directory. May be there is an item fergotten
to configure. But because I'm newbie with minivend and there are as much
items which can be configured I don't no which to change. May also be that
the ISP dosen't allow access outside the html-directory, but _he_ sees no
cause to change anything.

Is there anyone who has another idea?
