Server error with MiniMate

It's been a while (a month), so I'll try asking this again:
Has anyone come up with a solution/patch for this problem? When you try to
import/update information via MiniMate, if you have any apostrophes/single
quotes ('), you will get an internal server error. I'm sure it's just a matter
adding something like:
s/\'/\\'/g;
But, I'm not sure where to put it.
Any ideas?
