You need to change [if-field] as well to point to the correct db. But,
another problem may be the actual data. I've had instances where I've
modified the products.asc and found that all my searches resulted in 'x
matches' but no listing. The problem was a bad character or mutilation of
the db.
Also, if you are caching your searches you may have a cached blank page!
Try restarting the server to clear your caches... or change your search
criteria each time you test it.
I bet you're pretty close to solving it, stick to it.
