If you're DSO setup is correct, running the command

apxs -i -a -n mod_minivend mod_minivend.so

should install and activate properly the module. This command
is run when you do a make install.

On the other hand, the RPMs don't activate the module
automatically. (Also they install under /usr/lib/apache,
but this is the layout of RH6.0).
