Chris -
You could create a categories-only results page and use it in conjuction
with the [on-change] tag to create a category list. Put the tags to
display the category text within the [on-change][/on-change] pair, and make
the body of [search-list][/search-list] empty. You would display this page
via a one-click search which finds ALL records in the products database and
uses your categories page to display the results. Each category name would
display exactly once, due to the [on-change] tag.

Each line item (category) on this page could itself be a one-click search
which results in the display of all items in that category (this would be
the "standard" results page, and a good example of how to do this exists in
the simple demo - take a look at the category links in the file "leftside").

Read up on 'THE SEARCH ENGINE" and it's subsections in the docs.

Good luck!
