I just checked a site where I initially started with a similar scheme for
news items, which initially used a date as code. I introduced a field date
into the database, and sorted by date. This might be the easiest way.
Otherwise, if the sort is for an in-page search, you could sort the results
from the search with perl.
I seem to remember a similar discussion on the list some time ago, maybe it
would be worth while to check the list archives.
Good luck, Frank
