Your message came somewhat garbled, but anyway: Localization affects the
output of minivend, i.e. how pages will appear in the browser. They will
have no effect on the databases used by minivend. You can set the
localization parameters to whatever you want, the decimal point used
internally will remain a period.

The products.asc files is parsed with perl routines, and they want a
standard format for internal use. This is identical across almost all
programming languages. Unfortunately most programs and OSs for Mac and
Intel PCs have their own idea how you want an export file to look like. If
you want one of these files as a products.asc for minivend, you will often
need to do some conversion.

If you feel like it, you can try to extend the input filter of minivend,
but I would rather create a short perl script on the server that takes care
of this.
