Well you might want to look for some better hardware. It all depends on
your catalog and your users. If having multiple simultaneous users,
your going to need a better CPU. I don't think that adding ram will
help you. You will be running out of CPU first. However, there is
no reason that you can't use this for development. You'll be the
first to know that its too slow. To minimize CPU use take a look
at the static page building. I haven't done it yet, but I'm planning
on using it on a site that is hosted on a Celeron 333MHz system.
Some of its pages take a few, like 3, seconds of CPU time.
However, not all pages can be static built. Things that aren't
static, like searches, still get built by minivend.
The bottom line is that minivend is a resources pig.
