RE: minivend install and config

Hello George,

I'd suggest Unix to you. Perl and Unix knowledge will help you immensely.
If you don't have any UNIX experience, theres no better time to start than
now. If you must stick to the NT platform (I really hope you're not running
on 95/98) then I'd suggest buying commercial software supported for NT.
Minivend was developed under Unix, and so was PERL, the NT ports of both
aren't up to production quality.

Can any one provide concrete assistance in re the install and config of
minivend, since after a rather long time i'm still not out of the
starting blocks on this. I havs active state perl APi 518 installed,
MV 3.14, error messages like this: cannot find windows
DLL library even when path is specified, cannot write file/directory,
cannot copy
link executable TLink.exe and ends up as Catalog_Build failed.

I realize the learning curve is beyond steep for a non perl person
(myself) but I'm
getting to the point where I believe this is really a frustration toy
being perpetuated
on me now rather than when I was 6 years old.

Can any one help?

Thanks

George gbrill@ameritech.net
