I don't understand this question (above), but I can be of help below...

You need to restart the Minivend server to see the changes in leftside,
menubar, menubottom, logo and copyright - the shell command is:
mvend/bin restart
assuming you accepted the default directories when installing.

There are a number or CGI scipts for password protecting web pages. You
can probably find something that will work alongside Minivend & minimate.
