Mysql very slow

Hi All,

I am using minivend 3.14 and mysql-3.22.22.

All sql seems VERY slow.
for example,

the initial import takes 45 mins of the products.asc file.
There are about 10,000 records in the file.

if I use mysqlimport, it imports in about 3 seconds.
I have DBI 1.06 installed.

Searches seem to take a long while when using SQL, if i revert to the gdbm format, it runs
very quickly.

There are no errors in the log files.

I am running on red hat 6.0

Any ideas??
