newbie question: help with SCAN results

I cant seem to find out how to change the results from "scan".
I have added fields to my products database and was able to change "browse" 
to reflect the new items, but I cant find where scan is making its results. 
I know I must be over looking it. I spent 2 hours on the FAQ, List Archive, 
and on my site looking for the file, but nothing!
Is there just one file that scan uses to format the results? What directory 
is it in?

I am using the latest minivend on a redhat 5.2 server running the latest 
PERL.
