Sure.  You need to have DBI and DBD:mysql installed.  If you do then
use the example Database line in catalog.cfg

You need to change minivend to the name of your database.  Make your life
easier and name your table products.

Also change the port number or just delete it if you aren't running
mysql on a non-standard port.

Create your table(s) manually, make the first field code and
include fields that MV expects like description and price.
