How to Order an item without going to the shopping cart..

Hi Everyone!
We are very very close to having all the mechanics done, if you

I have two questions.. I will put the 2nd one in another email to the 
list.

First question:

I searched throught the docs, and faq, and the online archives and 
can't seem to find if there is a way to have an item added to the 
shopping basket without actually displaying the basket and staying 
in the search results field?
