RE: ValidCC.pm

In order to try to help by finding an answer to this person's question, I took a look at the code for ValidCC.pm.  I wonder if we should base the ValidCreditCard function on the Luhn algorithm instead of how it is currently engineered.  What this algorithm does is determine the type of credit card from the leading character of the credit card number and then uses the card length to determine if it is a "Diner's Club" or "Carte Blanc" credit card type.  I believe that a move in this direction would allow us to accept more types of cards online.  Any thoughts?  Has anyone in N.America experienced a situation where customers wanted to use "Diner's club" cards, or "Carte Blanc" cards?

Hello,

A client and I are having a problem with her site. At
first I assured her that it must be opperator error
(ie. The customer making a mistake typing in their CC
number) but then I found that my clients CC card
would be validated by minivend and mine would not.
After about 6 tests to make sure that i was typing
correctly I set mv_credit_card_force to 1 and still
it wouldnt take my card.

So, it seems that some cards are validating and some
are not. I looked at the ValidCC.pm in mvend/lib/ and
im not to sure about hacking it. So i thought i would
finally take the plunge and write to the list for the
first time.

Has anyone else had this problem? or is it just silly
me? If so what am I doing wrong, what did I miss in
the list?
