Re: 2nd catalog configuration, won't start...

Tom,

You might want to speak with Superb's Trevor Bennicke
<TBennicke@Superb.net>. He's quick and very helpful with MiniVend
installation or processing questions.

He has only expressed the concern that we don't use the default port (which
is also mentioned in Superb's online documentation, and that we run UNIX
instead of INET. That is, install but don't start until you have changed
the port to something above 10000. Once done,

        .../mvend/bin/./start -u

I'm not aware that you need be concerned otherwise. From what I understand
from MiniVend documentation, all of your MiniVend software should be
installed out of web view, i.e., /opt2/home3/yourdomain/mvend, while your
unique catalog pages and graphics are stored in web view; i.e.,
/opt2/home3/yourdomain/public_html/yourcatalog. MiniVend communication is
then entirely inaccessible to web access.

You "can" use script alias to take even the catalog pages and graphics out
of web view if you feel a need to do so, but you can't update your .htaccess
with your script alias statements yourself; Superb wants to do that for you,
which has been for me a twenty four hour turnaround. Therefore if you are
in a hurry to do this; plan ahead.

Regards,

Phil Welch
