If you can only successfully read one line from the config files I'd
suspect that you have the wrong end of line conventions.  I.e. you're
on a Unix box and have DOS ^M's at the end of each line.  Or you're
on DOS and you have the uniz version without the ^M

Caused by ftp'ing in binary instead of ascii mode.
