Bad Robots and NT
Hi all. I'm new to minivend and am trying to get a first install up and
running on NT. I need some help, please. While I'm not stupid, I'm not
experienced in Perl, but in my defense I have managed to get other Perl
scripts running! OK (adding this in late) I have searched the archives
and read the related messages, but no clear recommedation was ever made.
OK, first when the problem occurs.
http://server/simple does bring up the homepage, but clicking on the
enter the store links (frames or no frames) causes the error noted
below.
http://server/cgi-bin/simple.exe works for a while but clicking the
"continue shopping" button in the shopping cart causes this error to be
reported in teh log and in the mvend window...
The error.
This message appears both in the mvend window and the error log.
"WARNING: possible bad robot 52 accesses with no 30 second pause"
The actual error log entry is:

A bunch of errors like this one appeared during one session, but haven't
appeared since. (I have just today run the remove CR procddure on
index.html {perl -npi.bak -e "s:\r::g" index.html], but it didn't cure
the problem and didn't report illeagel charators) hHere's the error
message:

When access via IE4 the "connecting to site ..." keeps fladshing in the
bottom left corner. In Netscape a page comes up saying "Object has
moved *here*", of course clicking *here* produces an nth degree binary
do loop.
ANY ideas on how to get off the ground here?
Here's what I've tried this on.
Windows 98/PWS4.0,
Windows NT Workstation 4.0/PWS4.0
NT server 4.0/IIS3.0
Minivend versions 3.12 and 3.14
Active Perl 5.15 and 5.17 with DB_file and a new libwww-perl
'standard' perl 5.00402
Plus I've makecat-ed so many times and different ways that the
S-I-M-P-L-E letters are wearing off my keyboard.
While I once upon a time set up a linux box, i'm not very excited about
doing it again and relearning all that plus apache, etc AND minivend
HELP-Any ideas???
Thanks in advance
Ken Potter
