How do I quickly create a new catalog?

I just installed MiniVend 3.14 on Linux and the demo shop works wery well.
Now that I'm trying to add a few real shops, each one with their own catalog,
I have a question:
do I really need to edit catalog pages one by one by hand, or it does exist
some program that makes my life easier?

I'm looking for something like a general purpose "makecat".
