Re: Coupons
OK, I follow your logic (as well as steve's.) Mike's code helps me understand
a little better too. A few questions (isn't that inevitable!?!?)
1 : currently no one "logs" into the catalogs I have set up. Mike's code makes
us of the [if session logged_in] tag. Does this mean that I can not use it?
2: can I simply set a form field in the order process for a customer to enter
their alphanumeric coupon ID into and then use a snippet of perl to remove that
line from the .asc database (which I would setup to contain all the valid
coupon IDs) and then use a discount (this worries me because I can't make it
work by itself, and include all ^^^^ == fear....anyway) tag at the end of the
order process to kick in the coupon's discount value?
The part i don't understand the most is : Can I impliment this without using a
user database and forcing people to create accounts and log in (because it takes
too much time) and can I get it done by friday :)
Rushing about in a panic,
