coordinated search with mv_begin_string

Anyone have any ideas why I'm not able to get coordinated searchs working
with mv_begin_string. I can get it to work with a regular search such as:

<a href="[area href="scan"
arg="sp=mypage/bs=yes/cs=no/su=yes/sf=name/se=A"]">

But none of the ways I have tried coordinated searches seems to work. I
always get no matches. Here are a the two main searchspecs I tried:

<a href="[area href="scan"
arg="sp=mypage/bs=yes/cs=no/su=yes/co=yes/sf=category/se=Prod/sf=name/se=A
"]">

<a href="[area href="scan"
arg="sp=mypage/cs=no/su=yes/co=yes/sf=category/se=cat1/sf=name/se=A/bs=yes
/bs=yes"]">
