Shipping weights less than 1 pound

I have added some items that have weights less than 1 lb. I get the
following messages on the checkout page from the [loop] that builds the
shipping option dropdown box. How do I deal with weights less than 1?

"No match found for mode 'upsg', quantity '0.5', returning 0.
No match found for mode 'upsg', quantity '0.5', returning 0.
No match found for mode 'upsg', quantity '0.5', returning 0.
No match found for mode 'upsg', quantity '0.5', returning 0.
