MV:3.12 - Solaris Install Trouble

Hello,
I'm having trouble installing MV on Solaris 2.6 (or 5.6,
I've seen both numbers on login) (patched). I don't have
root access on this server (unfortunately), so my debugging
options are limited.
When I run the ./configure script This is the output I get,
which hangs and does nothing at this point:

Found Perl 5.00401 as /usr/bin/perl
If you get a CPAN error, rerun the configuration and it
should go away.

I checked the contents of Makefile.PL, and it appears that
it is hanging at about line 336, which is after it prints
the copyright prompt.
I'm pretty well experienced with minivend on other platforms
(Irix, Linux), but this is my first shot at Solaris. Any
help would be great!
