More than one item with the same Item Code
****** message to minivend-users from Cory J Trese <digital@specialty-books.com> ******
List :
Is it possible to have a duplicate of an item in a database and have
the search engine display the appropriate data for each
individual entries?
-Background
Each item in my database is referenced with an ISBN (unique 10 digit
code for shipping and inventory use, as well as buying from
publishers.)
We supply these books to students, and often times different classes
have the same book requirement (and thus the same ISBN) and I have
been forced to maintain a database with lots of "ECON 201/ECON 202/
ECON 203/Economies of the World 301" stuff in the "course" column.
Is it possible to have more than one entry for an [item-code] and
have the results page display only the results that apply to the
search that the end user ran (searches are done by the "course" field
or by the "call" number of the course.)
Am I trying to do something impossible?
