Problems to install MiniVend

Hello,
I have hard time trying to install MiniVend-3.12 on my server
When I enter ./configure
everything goes fine until I get those messages

>From the telnet connexion I get:
read PID file: No such file or directory
Killed
------------
I set UNIX permissions to CHMOD 755 on Minivend-3.12 and on mvend (where

it is supposed to be installed)

And from              /minivend-3.12/blib/error.log          I get:
Can't find executable ('sendmail') for the SendMailProgram directive

On the Server sendmail is located at
/bin/sendmail        (and I cannot change it)

So I changed all SendMailLocation in MiniVend-3.12
from        /usr/lib/sendmail     to         /bin/sendmail

Questions:
is the location    /bin/sendmail/   OK ??
and what I can do to be able to install minivend-3.12
