[data session arg] - missing, no value!?

Hi all,
    working on a site; need to use the session arg, for some reason I cannot get a
value from it?!  Any ideas?

    I've tried:  [data session arg] in both an embeded perl subroutine, and also
in just a print out type thing where I have it laying in regular html without an
embeded perl sub...  I've also tried using the TolerateGet Yes in my minivend.cfg
file, and have restarted both the catalog and the MV server... any ideas?
