simple catalog

Hello everybody!
If I install the new simple catalog on my minivend 3.12 (linux), it does
work really good. I can do shopping and even create new user accounts. But
later on, when I have to restart minivend, and I want to relogin, it says
"username doesn't exist". So this might be a problem with saving the data
into the userdb file. But shouldn't this work with the simple catalog?
Anyone a hint?
